What's in the Course?

In short; Everything you need to learn improv without a teacher

  • Better than a book

Previously, if you couldn't find a good improv teacher or workshop, your next best bet was to learn from a book. This course offers a better way - guided, tailored lessons and workshops to teach a complete beginner everything they need to know to get started

  • Everything you need

From basic vocabulary, advice on hosting workshops, complete workshop plans, games exercises, scene analysis and more - this course offers everything you need to go from improv zero to improv hero in no time

  • Rare footage

Jack spent years filming various improv shows, collecting footage from different troupes to really understand how the best performed and learned - in this course there are scenes and footage that can't be found anywhere else.

Course Masterplan

Here's what we're going to do.

Tried and tested

I've been teaching improv for years to complete beginners. My experience and unique approach to teaching improv means the content in this course is tried and tested, with support for any who enrol.

  • Years of teaching experience: I've co-founded two extremely successful troupes off the back of the workshops in this course - Hivemind and the House of Improv

  • An organic approach: the course doesn't try to mould people into a certain style, instead it helps you find your own way of being funny, confident and charismatic

  • Email and call support for any questions, tips and advice moving forward!

  • Most workshop courses cost hundreds of pounds or dollars - this course is barely a tenth of that price - and you can use it again and again for as many people as you like!

  • More content on the way - in the coming months, more workshops and video analysis will be added, in huge part directed by the students who enrol

FAQ

  • But I'm not witty/funny, can I do improv?

Yes. If you've ever had a conversation without a script, you know how to do improv. If you've ever played pretend, or make-believe, as a kid, you know how to do improv. If you've ever told an anecdote to a friend, bringing characters and voices to life as you tell the story, you know how to do improv. In fact, scripted comedy/drama is the weird stuff. We all know how to play, let me help you remember.

  • Improv terrifies me, and I'm not confident at all, is this for me?

Some improv workshops throw beginners in front of a crowd suddenly - we don't do that. By using simple exercises without a spotlight on any particular person, we'll build you up to performing in front of a few people at a time seamlessly, so as to allow you to build confidence.

  • Can you really learn improv without a teacher?

Yes. Like all skills, improv is best learned in person and with a group. But ultimately, everyone knows how to play and whether they find something funny or not. My goal with this course is to give the power back to the people - by showing you the methods, exercises and principles, you can teach yourself and your friends improv
